Mosi-oa-tunya National Park

Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is a small but important protected area on the outskirts of Livingstone, Zambia, along the Zambezi River, immediately upstream from Victoria Falls. The park takes its name from Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning “The Smoke That Thunders,” the traditional name for Victoria Falls.

The park is particularly famous for its white rhinoceros conservation programme. Visitors can encounter rhinos as well as elephants, buffalo, hippos, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, impala and other wildlife. Its location close to Livingstone makes it an excellent addition to a Victoria Falls itinerary without requiring a long transfer.

Visitors can enjoy game drives, walking safaris and wildlife ...
